To complete his studies at the Royal Academy of Music, Seb will be performing an hours recital in the Dukes Hall on Wednesday 23rd May. Free entry.

- Conducting Masterclass with Kenneth Woods and Orchestra of the Swan, 20th May 2012
Seb is one of two participants selected to take place in an upcoming masterclass with the Orchestra of the Swan. Following assisting with the orchestra's recording of Brahms's First Serenade, Seb will then work with Kenneth Woods in a public masterclass on the same work. - Supporting Nacoa in Song, with Sophia Ackermans, 15th May, Hind Street Methodist Church

- Royal Academy of Music Vocal Faculty Opera Scenes, May 3rd + 4th, 6pm
The latest set of RAM Opera Scenes will take place on Thursday 3rd May and Friday 4th of May at 6pm. Seb will be accompanying a scene from Cimorosa's Il Matrimonio Segreto, conducted by Gareth Hancock.
- Forthcoming D'Avanzo Piano Trio Performances
Following on from a successful tour of the Channel Islands, the D'Avanzo Piano Trio were back on home soil to play a private lunchtime concert for residents of the Jawa Group Residential Home last week. The next opportunity to hear the trio is at Windsor Parish Church on May 9th at 1.10pm. Repertoire will include Schubert, van der Roost and Lalo.
- Orchestra of the City Rehearsal, 24th April 2012
Seb has recently assisted in taking a wind sectional for the London-based orchestra, the Orchestra of the City. This excellent non-professional orchestra perform their next concert at St James's, Piccadilly on the 19th May, featuring Borodin's Symphony no. 2 and Glinka's Overture to Ruslan and Lyudmila.
- Terra Nova, Contemporary Music Group, Friday 13th April 2012 at the Town Church, St Peter Port, 8pm
Guernsey's first contemporary music ensemble, founded recently by Seb Grand, Will Roberts and Tom Hicks perform their debut concert on Friday the 13th April at the Town Church. An excellent opportunity to enjoy some great works from the 20th and 21st Century, a world premiere by local composer Will Roberts and a vist from BBC Young Composer of the Year, Jack Sheen. Free entry on the door, with a retiring collection.
- D'Avanzo Piano Trio Commended in Harold Craxton Chamber Music Prize, Concert Tour of the Channel Islands announced for March 29th + 30th 2012
The D'Avanzo Piano Trio have been commended for their performance of the Lalo Piano Trio in the Royal Academy of Music's Harold Craxton Chamber Music Prize. The competition, for mixed chamber music ensemble was adjudicated bu Ashley Wass.
The trio will also be performing two concerts in the Channel Islands over the next month, first for the Alderney Music Society at the Anne French Room on Friday 29th March and then for the St James Youth Promotions Trust at St James in Guernsey on Saturday 30th March. - Fulham Symphony Orchestra, Mahler Symphony no. 6, March 17th 2012
Seb will be performing as orchestral pianist with the Fulham Symphony Orchestra at Hammersmith Town Hall on Saturday March 17th. Repertoire includes Mahler Symphony no. 6 and Bruch Kol Nidrei. Tickets are available on the door.
- Royal Academy of Music Vocal Faculty Opera Scenes, March 7th + 8th, 6pm
The latest set of RAM Opera Scenes will take place on Thursday 7th March and Friday 8th of March at 6pm. Seb will be accompanying a scene from Leoncavallo's La Boheme.
- Youth Camerata 2012, Strauss Burleske, 3rd February 2012
As well as performing Carnival of the Animals, Seb performed the Strauss Burleske as part of this year's Youth Camerata Concert - viewable below with thanks to Martin Cordall.
- Carnival of the Animals with Guernsey Camerata, Sunday 4th February 2012, 3pm
This year's Camerata Family Concert sees Seb perform Carnival of the Animals by Saint-Saens, alongside fellow Guernsey pianist Tom Hicks. - Royal Academy of Music Opera Scenes, 26th + 27th January 2012
Seb will be performing as conductor and pianist in the upcoming RAM Opera Scenes. Featuring a variety of French and Italian opera, the performances take place on January 26th and 27th at the Royal Academy of Music.

- Handel's Messiah with Guernsey Baroque Band and Chorus, 29th December 2011
The Guernsey Baroque Band and Chorus will once again take over the Cock and Bull Pub for their annual 'Come and Sing' event. Following the success of last year's Vivaldi Gloria, this year Seb will be directing a performance of Handel's Messiah in the unique pub setting. Come along at 8pm on the 29th December and feel free to bring a score!
- Odyssey Symphony Orchestra @ St James's Piccadilly, 29th October 2011
The newly-formed Odyssey Symphony Orchestra will be performing their inaugural concert at St James's Piccadilly on 29th October. The orchestra, co-founded and co-conducted by Seb Grand and Adam Cooke, will be performing the following programme:

- ECSOC 2011 - (Elizabeth College Summer Orchestral Course)

Seb will be performing as orchestral pianist with the Worthing Symphony Orchestra this weekend, in what will be their end of season finale. - Recital with Lucy Williams, Foundling Museum, London, Sunday 1st May 2011, 3pm
Lucy Williams will be performing her reflective 'Dreams, Journeys and the Sea' programme at the Foundling Museum on Sunday, accompanied by Seb. Repertoire includes Schubert, Brahms, Elgar, Janacek, Vaughan Williams, Duparc and Berlioz.
- Ealing Symphony Orchestra, Conducting in Rehearsal
Seb has recently worked in rehearsal with the Ealing Symphony Orchestra in preparation for their upcoming concert on the 14th May. This excellent orchestra will perform under conductor John Gibbons in a programme including Alwyn's 3rd Symphony and Tchaikovsky's First Piano Concerto

Seb will be performing Debussy's rarely heard piano trio alongside Lucia D'Avanzo (vln) and Noelle Casella (vcl). The concert is in the Concert Room at the Royal Academy of Music, commencing at 5.05pm.
- Repetiteur work for Opera up Close
Seb has recently been working as repetiteur with Opera Up Close in the establishment of their Repetory System. Based at the King's Head Theatre in Islington, London's Little Opera House, is now well established as a presenter of mainstream opera in unique adaptations. Seb is working as musical director for the following shows:

- Vivaldi Gloria with The Baroque Band and Singers, 29th December 2010, 8pm
Come along to the Cock and Bull Pub on Wednesday night to see the Baroque Band perform Vivaldi's Gloria alongside concerti featuring student performers. Directed by Seb, the Baroque Singers will join with the band and audience for this Christmas Spectacular!

Seb will be performing a selection of songs with Rachel Bowden at the Town Church this Wednesday. Repertoire includes Britten, Schubert and Debussy alongside the two Chopin Nocturnes op 55.
- St James Sinfonia, 21st August 2010
Seb recently performed the Grieg Piano Concerto with the St James Sinfonia, under the baton of Roger Coull. You can hear extracts from the performance on the media page.
- A Chamber Concert, 14th August 2010, 8pm
Seb will be performing in the annual summer chamber concert promoted by the St James Youth Promotions Trust this Saturday. The concert features music by Schumann and Mozart alongside a rarely played clarinet trio by Vincent D'indy.
- Guernsey Sinfonietta, 31st July 2010
Seb recently conducted the Guernsey Sinfonietta in their annual concert, in a programme comprising Glinka's Overture to Ruslan and Lyudmila, Vaughan Williams's Oboe Concerto and Tchaikovsky's Symphony no. 5. The orchestra, established by Seb in 2009, brings together Guernsey's local musicians with students and young professionals from the UK.
- RNCM Symphony Orchestra, Bridgewater Hall, 1st July, 7.30pm
Seb completes his time at the RNCM by performing in the Symphony Orchestra's concert at the Bridgewater Hall. The programme includes the UK premiere of Avner Dorman's Spices, Perfumes, Toxins! alongside Stravinsky's Rite of Spring. Tickets are available from http://www.bridgewater-hall.co.uk/
- RNCM Wind Orchestra, RNCM Concert Hall, 29th June, 7.30pm
Seb will be performing with the RNCM Wind Orchestra in their final concert of the year on 29th June. Working with distinguished American conductor, Rodney Winther, Seb will perform in Jean Francaix's Hommage a l'ami Papageno, Joseph Schwantner's and the mountains rising nowhere and Dana Wilson's Day Dreams. Seb will be performing at St Werburgh's Church, Chorlton as part of the Chorlton Arts Festival 2010. A series of concerts showcasing students from the RNCM will take place over the week and Seb performs in the first of these concerts. - Chopin Festival, 7th-9th May
This year the RNCM commemorates the Chopin bicentennial with the complete performance of his piano works. Seb will be performing an early Chopin Polonaise on the final day of the festival, but be sure to visit the RNCM at any time over the weekend to feast on the wonderful variety of piano works composed by this extraordinary composer. - RNCM Percussion Ensemble, 27th April
Seb will join the RNCM percussion ensemble on Tuesday for a performance of Steve Reich's Sextet. Completed in 1985, this hypnotic piece incorporates innovative performance techniques, two synthesizers and a raft of timbral effects. The concert begins at 7.30 in the RNCM Concert Hall. - Schumann Day of Song, 25th April
Seb will be performing at the RNCM's Day of Song this Sunday, working alongside students from the School of Vocal and Operatic Studies in Schumann's Spanische Liederspiel, Op. 74. The concert begins at 12.15 in the RNCM Concert Hall. Visit www.rncm.ac.uk for details.
- Guernsey Eisteddfod - 6th March 2010
Seb has won the two piano class at the Guernsey Eisteddfod. He performed the first movement of Rachmaninoff's Second Suite alongside pianist Tom Hicks. Their mark of 92 was the highest awarded in the festival. Visit www.guernseyeisteddfod.co.uk for more information.

- Youth Camerata - 30th January 2010
On 30th January, Seb is returning to St James to perform a short solo programme and accompany Janine Mallet (tuba) and Oli Phillips (oboe). The concert brings together many of Guernsey's talented youngsters and runs with the support of the Guernsey Camerata. Tickets are free, though there will be a retiring collection.
- RNCM Piano Duo Prize - 11th January 2010
Seb and his duo partner Jamie Thompson have won the RNCM piano duo prize. Their performance of Vaughan Williams' Fantasia on a Theme of Thomas Tallis and Britten's Introduction and Rondo alla burlesca was enough to impress adjudicator John Humphreys and seal the prestigious award.
- RNCM Chamber Music Festival -10th January 2010 - 10am
Seb will performing in the RNCM Chamber Music Weekend on the 10th January. He will feature in a performance of Alwyn's Piano Quartet alongside Anya Muston, Emma Richards and Paul Grennan. Tickets are available from www.rncm.ac.uk.
- St Ann's Chamber Concert - 18th November 2009 - 1pm
Next Wednesday sees Seb accompany fellow RNCM student Jo Wilcox (oboe) in a Wednesday Afternoon Chamber Concert at St Ann's Church, Manchester.
